Building safe homes for the impoverished families of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico through an immersion program enabling Mexicans to begin living a dignified life in their own country.
Southern Exposure was established as a building immersion program in 2000 to respond to incredibly harsh living conditions in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Ciudad Juarez is located just minutes across the United States-Mexico border from El Paso Texas. As Deacon Mike Howard, founder of Southern Exposure, surveyed the miles and miles of impoverished conditions in Juarez, he felt a calling to help improve the situation of as many families as possible.
Since 2000, Southern Exposure, Inc, a non profit 501(C) (3) corporation, has built over 280 homes for the people of Juarez. About 30% of the homes built today are for single women with children.
